Haitian Family Services

The program equips Haitian entrants with family and relationship skills, information on various local laws, particularly child neglect and abuse using culturally sensitive parenting and domestic violence prevention classes.

Case Management is available for those in need of assistance, including information and referrals to health, immigration, employment, and education services.

Eligibility:

  • Participant must be Haitian
  • Be a legal immigrant of the United States
  • Have been in the US for less than five (5) years.

Haitian Guardian Program

The program provides clients with information and referrals to community resources: Health access, Medicaid, Food Stamps (SNAP), WIC, immigration, housing, continued and vocational education, employment services.

Eligibility:

  • Participant must be Haitian
  • Be enrolled with USCIS
  • Have been in the US for less than five (5) years.

Strengthening Families Program

The program facilitates an interactive group parenting education curriculum to low and very-low income families throughout Miami-Dade County.

During 14 weeks, parents and children participate in culturally adapted group sessions, designed to build family and social skills.

Parents receive case management when necessary, including information and referrals to assist with any concern or need they may have.

Services are provided in English, Creole, and Spanish.

Eligibility:

  • Be a resident of Miami-Dade county
  • Have at least one child between the ages of 3 to 16 years old
