Catholic Charities' New Life Family Center Selected to Participate in Chevrolet's 2011 "Pictures of Hope" Campaign

New Life Family Center sizzled with excitement on October 20, 2011 when photojournalist, Linda Solomon, visited the shelter to work with our children.  Underwritten by Chevrolet, the "Pictures of Hope" campaign helps children living in shelters across the United States to capture their hopes and dreams in photographs.  These images are transformed into captivating Christmas cards to help participating organizations raise funds for their work.

The Florida Catholic covered this unforgettable experience.  Click here to read more about it.

On November 22, 2011, ABC will air a special on national television featuring children from the ten cities who participated.

Catholic Charities Launches Disaster Relief Registry & Mobile Network

The Disaster Relief Registry will allow Catholic Charities to identify, organize, and mobilize resources quickly based on the needs on the ground. After registering online, supporters can manage their profiles via the Catholic Charities website. The Mobile Network will enable supporters to receive text message alerts and make donations using their cell phones even if they are unable to access the Internet.

“Our region is prone to natural disasters so it is a matter of when and how frequently we will need to respond,” said Deacon Richard Turcotte, Chief Executive Officer. “Even if our local offices are destroyed, we can access our Disaster Relief Registry and Mobile Network to respond quickly and effectively.”

Join the Disaster Relief Registry by visiting www.ccadm.org/joinourteam.
